Jess~I would think that someone who calls themself a musical lover would be able to respect and accept that behind ever persons love of something musical there is dedication.
So, in your case your dedication to Dave is equal to my dedication to Gavin.
There really is no debate on musical opinion... I LOVE Gavin.. you don't; I'm fine with that.
I don't like DAVE.... you do....

His lyrics make sense to some, like me, who value his music highly...I guess musical talent is in the eye of the beholder and just because a band has been around forever doesn't make them good... there are many bands that I just don't understand their claim to fame...
Also, at making that statment it's kinda like your saying just cause a band doesn't make it big their talentless... when in all actuality many of the non-mainstream bands are the best ones.
I hope Gavin is around for a lengthy career but whether he falls off or not doesn't depict his talent or my dedication , it just depicts the ever changing status quo

1. Gavin became popular from a T.v show theme song,
2. Dave came up on there own, it took a while but they did it and are still going strong.
3. Gavin covers songs BOOHHH!!!
4. Dave has a violoinist

1) Whether it's a TV theme song or a Radio hit, it doesn't matter how a band gets to be popular...
2) Dave's old music was great, their new music is TERRIBLE, including his solo effort....
3) This whole let's see if Gavin can stick around for a while, I don't give a shit how long they've been around for... it's the music I care about...
4) Gavin has a piano
5) YES, Gavin is all original... writes and produces everything....
6) Gavin covers songs live... never on an album... Dave has also covered songs...
This is a matter of opinion... and I think your wrong, and you think I'm wrong...
Really there is no "right" answer so, I'm dropping this issue.....
